University of Tsukuba and IIT Bombay Sign Agreements for Academic Collaboration and Joint Institute

On March 26, 2024, President NAGATA Kyosuke of the University of Tsukuba and Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, held an online signing ceremony for three agreements: a Letter of Intent (LOI) on the Establishment of the Joint Institute (IITB-UT), a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Academic Exchange, and a Students and Scholars Exchange Program Agreement.

The signing ceremony included remarks from both institutions' leaders expressing their commitment to future collaboration under the LOI and MOU, followed by a virtual handshake. In addition to President NAGATA and Director Chaudhuri, Prof. Sudarshan Kumar, Dean of International Relations at IIT Bombay, and Prof. OHNEDA Osamu, Executive Officer and Director-General of the Bureau of Global Initiatives at the University of Tsukuba, as well as Director SAKURAI Takeaki of the Office of Global Initiatives (Professor, Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences), were present at the ceremony.

This signing marks a significant step towards closer collaboration between the University of Tsukuba and IIT Bombay, paving the way for joint research, student exchange, and other academic initiatives.
