Delegation from Andalas University, Indonesia, Visited the Humanities and Social Sciences Area
On June 14, a delegation of Andalas University, Indonesia, including Dr. Apriwan, Head of the Department of International Relations, and Lecturer Zulkifli Harza, alumnus of the University of Tsukuba, visited the Humanities and Social Sciences Area of the University of Tsukuba and paid a courtesy call on Prof. SEKINE Hisao, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Prof. KASHIWAGI Kenichi, Dean of the College of International Studies. They mainly discussed their expectations for strengthening relations starting from the college education and confirmed each other's will to do so.
On the same day, following the courtesy visit, a Japan-Indonesia Diplomacy Research Forum was held under the auspices of the Master's Program in International Public Policy. Prof. NAITO Hisahiro, Head of the Department of International Public Policy, gave opening remarks, and Assis. Prof. KAYANE Yuka of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences moderated a lively discussion on collaboration between the two countries on climate change policies. Summary comments were given by Prof Emer. SHUTO Motoko of the University of Tsukuba at the end of the session.
The delegation also participated in a campus tour, visiting the Central Library and University Hall to feel the liveliness of the students and deepen their understanding of the University's founding principles and history. It is expected to promote further exchange and collaboration with Andalas University in the future.
