Deputy Secretary-General of Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education Visits

On June 3, H.E. Dato' Dr. Haji Megat Sany Bin Megat Ahmad Supian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, visited the university for a fruitful discussion with Vice President IKEDA Jun (Global Affairs) and Director TSUJIMURA Maki, Malaysia Branch Campus Preparation Office (Professor, Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences).

During the meeting, Vice President IKEDA provided an overview of the university, its initiatives, and highlighted the Malaysia branch campus and the 50th-anniversary commemorative project. Deputy Secretary-General Megat expressed the crucial need for enhanced collaboration between Malaysia and Japan in the field of research. The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education has identified climate change, disaster prevention, and public health as priority areas, and discussions were held regarding potential collaboration in these research fields.

Following the courtesy visit, the delegation toured the campus and engaged in discussions with Malaysian students studying at the university.

Moving forward, greater exchanges and collaboration between Malaysian institutions and the university are anticipated.
