Request for Your Cooperation and Support to the

Emergency Relief Fund for Students Affected by the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic

To all our dear friends and supporters

The COVID-19 pandemic marks an unprecedented and difficult time for humanity in recent history. Just like everywhere else in the world, the spread of the coronavirus in Japan has had a serious impact economically and the uncertainty of the future has caused great anxiety to us all.

As you know, many of our students have fallen on hard times. Many of their families' ability to support their studies have decreased significantly, and many of their part-time jobs have been lost. Thus, the university has immediately set up a package for student financial support, costing approximately 700 million yen, and has already begun accepting applications from students, recognizing the need for quick payment.

Of the 700 million yen needed to fully implement the student support package, we have secured about 400 million yen from the university's funds - but we are still short of about 300 million yen. To secure the needed funds, members of the faculty and staff of the University of Tsukuba have taken the initiative to make donations to support the students of the University of Tsukuba.

Under these very difficult circumstances, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but we sincerely hope that you will join us in supporting our students by donating through the link below.

I am fully aware that this is also a very difficult time for you, but I would like to ask for your support for this purpose.

Sincerely,

NAGATA Kyosuke

President, University of Tsukuba
