Responding to the New Coronavirus
In regard to pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei Province, People's Republic of China, the novel coronavirus was identified from the specimen of a patient with the pneumonia and Chinese authorities has provisionally considered this to be the cause of the pneumonia. Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has just raised the entire area of Hubei Province, China including Wuhan to "Level 3: Avoid all travel. (Travel Warning)" as of January 24.
For students, pupils, children, faculty members, and employees, we would like to ask you to undertake measures against ordinary infection including cough etiquette and hand washing as is the case with colds and influenza, to always check the latest information, and to exercise extreme caution for security including forgoing non-essential travel to China among others.
