Holding of a SAFE LIVING Seminar

The SAFE LIVING Seminar was held on December 3. It is an annual seminar held at the time of change in representatives of student groups as part of the Safety Campaign of the University of Tsukuba. A total of 102 people including general students and representatives of student groups and Zendaikai (Student representative Conference) participated.


Vice President SATOH Shinobu (Student Affairs) first gave a greeting. Subsequently, Mr. KIKUCHI Fumitake, Chief of Division of Student Welfare (Student Support), gave a lecture on the current status and issues of incidents or accidents in the University of Tsukuba and then encouraged students to prevent crimes and other trouble through specific examples of drinking troubles and an account of incidents with University of Tsukuba students as victims and offenders.


In the second seminar session, Associate Professor MORITA Nobuaki of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences delivered the lecture on the inhibition of drug abuse where he described the risk of drug abuse citing a basic knowledge of drug, symptoms of drug use, research results on drug use, drug dependence mechanism, and the interview videos of drug addicts. At the end of the seminar, the Head of the Student Support Office KAGA Nobuhiro gave a closing address.
