Brazilian judo instructors visit Vice President BENTON
A total of 10 Brazilian judo instructors made a courtesy visit to Vice President BENTON Caroline F. (Global Affairs) on October 8.
In this year's program, as a part of SPORT FOR TOMORROW, an international contribution project through sport initiative led by the Japanese government, 10 Brazilian judo instructors attending a Judo coaching training at the University of Tsukuba were provided practical sessions and lectures, and also had an opportunity to seeing judo tournaments and observing actual school PE classes from September to October 2019.
On September 18, 2018, eight Brazilian judo instructors came to Japan and visited the university, and from March 5 to 15, 2018, Associate Professor Hirotaka Okada of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences was dispatched to Sao Paulo in Brazil as a coach for "Discovery Camp: Tomorrow's Friends Programme -JUDO for School PE-" of the same project, there he had an observation tour and held classes and exchange meetings.
In this Brazilian judo instructors' visit, they exchanged opinions and shared ideas on judo coaching and future collaboration between Brazil and Japan.
