University delegation led by Vice President BENTON attends the 3rd Japan-Uzbekistan University Presidents Meeting
The 3rd Japan-Uzbekistan University Presidents Meeting was held at Tashkent State University of Economics in the city of Tashkent on July 8. Attendees from the University of Tsukuba included Vice President BENTON Caroline F. (Global Affairs), Professor Masaki ONO of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Associate Professor Takeaki SAKURAI of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences.
At the signing ceremony for an academic exchange agreement which was held in the meeting, a faculty-level agreement between Republican Scientific-Practical Centre of Developing the Innovational Methods for Teaching Foreign Languages under the Uzbek State World Languages University and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Tsukuba was concluded. Professor ONO gave an introduction to the cases of human resource development and research for intercultural exchange promotion and Associate Professor SAKURAI, academic exchange for the development of science and technology at a subcommittee meeting. With having many graduates from the University of Tsukuba who have been playing an important role through Uzbekistan, an enthusiastic discussion about exchange programs was made.
