Debriefing Session for the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO) 2017

A debriefing session for the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO), one of the University of Tsukuba Study Abroad Support Programs, was held on March 2, 2018. A total of 18 groups who had been accepted to the program participated in the session to give a reporting presentation.

It was attended by many faculty and staff including the board members: Vice President for Education Satoshi Shimizu, Vice President for Research Hideo Kigoshi, Vice President for Collaborative Research Yasunori Kanaho, Vice President for Student Affairs Shin-ichi Tamagawa, Vice President for Global Affairs Benton Caroline F., Vice President for Finance and Facilities Toshikazu Ishino, Vice President for Academic Intelligence Hiroaki Nishikawa (Director of University Library), and Professor Makoto Kawase of the Global Commons.

The student groups made presentations on what they learned and accomplished through the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO). A lively question and answer session ensued among the participants during the five-hour session.
Since the academic year 2015, the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO) has offered credits for students accepted into the program. Their academic records have been evaluated based on their reports and presentations at the debriefing session.

The applications for the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO) 2018 will be accepted in April, 2018.

What is the Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO)?

The University of Tsukuba has introduced the Study Abroad Support Programs since the academic year of 2015, as an initiative of the Top Global University Project.
The Overseas Study Tour Support Program (MUSHA-SHUGYO) is one of the Study Abroad Support Programs that aims to send student groups abroad to pursue their research and help them with exchange activities with international students.

Candidates for the program are supposed to make presentations in a screening session and to attend a debriefing session hosted by the university president to report on their experience abroad after pursuing the program.
