Partnership Agreement Concluded Between NARO and the University of Tsukuba

The University of Tsukuba and the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) concluded a partnership agreement, and a signing ceremony was held at our university from 2 pm on November 27, 2017.


NARO is one of the largest research organization for food, agriculture, and agricultural community in Japan. It promotes research development in the fields of agriculture, food, and environment from a global perspective, and gives the results back to society. NARO contributes to realize a sustainable community and society by ensuring a stable supply of safe food, strengthening industrial competitiveness, preserving the environment, and creating new values.


The university has cooperated with NARO to conduct research in the fields of agriculture and food and to develop human resources through the Cooperative Graduate School System.


The partnership agreement is expected to combine the strengths and to further promote academic exchange between NARO and the University of Tsukuba. Through partnership with NARO, the university aims to activate the agriculture and industry of Japan, and to help improve people's health and wealth.


In attendance at the ceremony were President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President for Collaborative Research Yasunori Kanaho, Vice President for General Affairs and Human Resource Development Toshiyuki Inagaki of the University of Tsukuba; and Senior Vice-President Akihiro Sasaki, Vice-President (Research Collaboration) Kazumasa Shioya, and Vice-President (Research Management) Yuriko Murakami of NARO.
