March 10, 2023
To all students, faculty members, and employees,
COVID-19 Response Team
Kazuhiko Kato, Vice President for General Affairs,
Human Resources and Information Infrastructure
Wearing of masks for the time being
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in our everyday efforts to combat COVID-19.
Now, the government has announced its policy that the wearing of masks after March 13 will be left to the individual's independent judgment, and that it will recommend the wearing of masks when it is effective as a measure to prevent infection.
However, this policy is to be applied from April 1 in schools, and in accordance with this policy, our university asks that students wear masks on campus until March 31. The wearing of masks at the graduation ceremony will be announced separately on our website.
In addition, we would like to add that the wearing of masks after April 1 is basically left to the judgment of each individual, but may be subject to change in response to notices, etc. issued by the government.
* The University of Tsukuba Hospital employee should wear a mask. Preventing the spread of infection (e.g., "avoidance of the three Cs," "maintaining a safe distance between people," "hand washing and other hand hygiene," and "ventilation") will continue to be implemented.
