Dr. NGO THI LAN PHUONG from Vietnam Appointed as Representative of Overseas Alumni Network
The University of Tsukuba was enjoying celebrating days last weekend, and on the sideline of the commemorative events, a graduate student from Vietnam was elected as a leader of a newly launched overseas alumni network called “Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network (TUAN).”
The four candidates from Pakistan, Peru, Vietnam, and the US were invited by the university. Before coming to Tsukuba, they have won the online first round of voting. In the final voting, which took place on October 1, they presented their good memories and experiences here in Tsukuba and their enthusiasm for leading the new alumni association.
The vote resulted in choosing Dr. NGO THI LAN PHUONG from Vietnam. Dr. NGO completed her Master’s and Doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences in 2022. In her speech, she expressed her willingness for creating a strong network that transcends national borders in the spirit of Dr. KANO Jigoro’s “Jita-Kyoei (mutual prosperity for oneself and others).”
